Playoff Picture Week 17
So now that the regular season is history, teams are getting ready for either the playoffs, already planning on who to pick in the upcoming draft, or just enjoying off-season.
In the AFC the New York Jets clinched the final playoff spot with a win over the bengals. In the NFC all of the top 6 teams won their games, so the 49ers will be the second team with a bye week in the wild-card round. Here is the final Picture:

I'd like to echo that - and thank everyone who contributed to making this site a success. Hopefully we will have even more owners on board next season.
And as for Frank - he's had the washing machine on ever since that game finished yesterday!

Re: Playoff Picture Week 17
haha dawg...right!
so i just went through the official tie breaking procedures and found out the steelers had to be in the playoffs. Tie breakers are: Head-to-head, which is not applicable here. So the next one would be the conference record which is 7-5 for both. 3rd tie breaker is the win-loss-tied percentage in common games minimum of four, but since both teams were 4-1 in common games this one is not applicable either. The 4th is the strength of victory where you basically combine the records of the teams which were beaten by the tied teams. So the percentage for the Jets there is 0.300 and the Steelers´ percentage is 0.425, which means the Steelers would have won the tie-breaking procedure in reality.
Sorry Stewart! EA stole you the playoff participation...

Say all the playoff games are finished before the deadline, are we gonna be sticking to the original timetable?
Its just in the NFLUK franchise, as soon as all the game were played we would advance the week. Everybody was itching to get to the draft and the playoffs ended up flying by.
Also if we stick to the timetable then anybody who didn't make the playoffs would have to wait until the 1st of Feb to play their next game.

think Nev has a point, think we should advance when all games are played, think it would make everything move along much better for those who are not in the superbowl race.

considering the drafttime has been set to make sure everyone can make it, that'll be the case no matter how quickly the playoffs progress....

Surely its not set in stone though?
These playoffs will fly by.

To be honest, as there was a vote for all members as to the best time and i know some of the guys from the states only had the current slot available, it might well be.... Myself, i'd be totally flexible but don't want anyone to miss out on the draft as that would really suck...
Re: Playoff Picture Week 17
I agree, we all voted on the draft so it should stay put, regardless of the downtime.

Re: Playoff Picture Week 17
Im not really bothered me. With any luck i'll be playing the superbowl so hopefully, i wont miss any games.
Im just thinking of everybody else. If all games are played then it doesn't make sense to just sit around waiting for the change over day when we could be getting on with the other matches.

Re: Playoff Picture Week 17
That's exceeding generous of you Nev, to show such consideration for everyone else. However, this isn't the NFL UK franchise: we have a timetable; everything is logged in the calendar section - AND WE STICK TO IT. The weekly advance has always taken place when the weekly advance should; there have been no exceptions and as long as I'm running things this will continue to be the case. Everyone knows where they are with such a system - advancing willy-nilly could mean that everyone plays their games on the same day, but then it takes 5 or 6 days to get the next round played. Not ideal in my view.
The draft will be on Friday 29th January and yes, it is cast in stone. It will give people plenty of time to get their draft board together; there will then be two nights of free agency signings and we start again on Monday 1 Feb. I don't think that a few weeks of downtime is going to kill anyone; people can always play online; some play in other franchises as well and if they are desperate, they can always organise friendlies on here.
In fact, I might even start a thread along those lines.

Why thank you, I'm always thinking of others... lol
A simple 'no' would have done the trick though. I wasn't trying to compare franchises or anything, i enjoy playing in this one just as much as the others. I was just making a suggestion. It wont happen again... lol
